We’re so glad you’ve decided to accept the 31-Day Wife UP Challenge! Your decision means that you truly want to be a blessing in your home.  We’d like to encourage you to keep track of what God does in your marriage over this next month.  Please take time to share what God does in your home as you bless and encourage your husband!

“Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.”
1 Corinthians 7:3 (NKJV)

Sexual intercourse is considered to be one of the most direct forms of expressing love. When a husband hears the word “physical touch” or “intimacy,” he may immediately think of sex.  However, there are several other ways to demonstrate love through physical touch (such as holding hands, kissing, hugging and giving massages). I will address the alternative ways to show your love later this week, but today, make your husband happy!

Today’s Wife UP Task: Become a student of your husband. Step out of your comfort zone and learn how to satisfy your husband’s desire from his perspective. Ask him, “How would you like me to please you?” Then do it!

Daily Rule Reminder:

  1. No negativity! Do not speak negatively to or about your husband throughout the challenge.
  2. Be positive! When negative thoughts try to form in your mind (and they will, especially since we are doing this challenge) think and speak admirably to or about your husband.

Review YOUR Love

                                                        by Charmayne Carter

In the corporate world employees have an evaluation of their work performance. There is a two-step process that involves a self-evaluation, followed by an employer evaluation, in order to identify areas of improvement and encourage professional growth. It’s also important for spouses to continuously evaluate their love in their marriage and grow closer.

Love Evaluation

  1. Review 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (TLB)

Love is very patient and kind,
never jealous or envious,
never boastful or proud,
never haughty or selfish or rude.
Love does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable or touchy.
It does not hold grudges and
will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.
It is never glad about injustice,
but rejoices whenever truth wins out.
If you love someone,
you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost.
You will always believe in him,
always expect the best of him,
and always stand your ground in defending him.”

  1. Personalize the scripture by adding your name

(Example: since my name is Charmayne I will use my name). “Charmayne is very patient and kind, Charmayne is never jealous or envious…”

  1. Identify and write down the areas of “love” toward your husband that need improvement. (Click Here to Purchase a Wife UP journal!)

(Example: I’m not very patient and I can be irritable at times towards my husband. Therefore, I can improve in my patience and be more easygoing).

4. Use those areas as your goal to improve for this year.

a. Write two ways that you can improve in your areas of love.
(Example: I will become more easygoing by reserving 1 hour of open communication with my husband every day without technology).

b. Establish a date of when you want to show improvement.

5. Schedule a calendar reminder to re-evaluate your love again.

Share them in the Facebook group HERE, with me, or an accountability partner. I’d love to read your love goals!

Wife UP Challenge Summary

                    by Charmayne Carter

Expectations – Reality = Happiness Level.

Oftentimes women are unhappy in marriage because our level of expectation is significantly higher than the reality of our marriage. The time has come for us to be the expectation that we require in our spouses. Change in your marriage starts with YOU.

This 31-day challenge serves to use the power within to increase happiness and build a successful union.  Note: This challenge is only for married women.

Daily Rules:

  1. No negativity! Do not speak negatively to or about your husband throughout the challenge.
  2. Be positive! When negative thoughts try to form in your mind (and they will, especially since we are doing this challenge) think and speak admirably to or about your husband.

Phases:

Each phase of the challenge will focus on a love language:

  • Phase 1 – Physical Touch/Intimacy
  • Phase 2 – Words of Affirmation
